Holiday Inn Express Glasgow City Centre Riverside, an IHG Hotel

Good hotel for 1/2night stay.

Location not very attractive. Open air public car parking seems a bit off-puting but staff assured that there had never been any problems and the special arrangement between the hotel and NCP worked well. Some distance from restaurants.

The staff were so welcoming and extremely helpful and the value for money is excellent.

No everything was very good and I will definitely stay there again.

It was really great as we went to the pubs just next to the hotel.

We liked the location as just a short walk from centre of town.

It was central and within walking distance of the things we wanted to do

It was very handy for the city centre shopping, the staff were very helpful and pleasant and the hotel was clean. I would recommend this hotel for the proximity to the shops, but only for a night if you do not want any facilities or atmosphere in the evening.

I was disappointed the first night with the size of the room for 4 people it was, with the sofa made into a bed, very restricted for space. It would be very hard for four people to move about with the bed out and try to get dressed etc and felt claustrophobic at night when all watching tv. However, after one night we informed the staff and were moved to a corner room for the next two nights, which made the world of difference, and were very grateful to the staff. The breakfast area was very congested, we had difficulty finding a table and the food area was very compact. Luckily, I am not a large person, as if i was i would have found it difficult to pass another customer in that area. We expected a range of hot food for breakfast, but for 3 days it was the same...sausages, dried up scrambled egg and beans. I would not return to this holiday inn again, to be honest...with no comfy reception area or friendly bar it just lacked atmosphere and felt like a youth hostel/travel lodge. It maybe is that I didnt research it properly before I booked but I visualised it being a hotel with a foyer and relaxing couches, bar etc...which after a long day shopping you kind of want, but this hotel was not like that at all.
