voco St David's Cardiff, an IHG Hotel

A comfortable hotel but I would not say it was 5 star. The decorations around the hotel were dusty and dirty eg. the vases on show each side of the lift white and looked never cleaned, the floor at reception area near the desk was caked in dirt, there was no mini bar! and no turn down service. We've stayed in a lot of hotels I would say definitely not 5 star but where the hotel is situated definitely 5 star. Price was

Having stayed atthe St.Davis Hotel and Spa before the hotel lived up to our expectaions in all but one respect. there was no fridge in the room and we do like our chilled water. We mentioned this on check out and were told that it was a "Management" decision. Pity. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay it is a Special hotel.

We have stayed here before, the location is lovely with Mermaid Key close by and Cardiff city centre only minuits away by car or bus. The rooms look out over Cardiff Bay and are comfotable and clean.

This weekend stay was a birthday treat for my daughter. Hotel acknowledged this by giving a complimentary half bottle of champagne which we thought was a nice welcome. Marvellous location for anyone wishing to explore Cardiff Bay and all it has to offer. Easy access to Cardiff City Centre via "Bay bus" which runs every 10 minutes. St Davids hotel rooms have lovely views across Mermaid Quay and a short walk takes you to the hub of activity in the Bay. We had a great time and will go again.

The entire stay was excellent, great value for money. The room, the view, the restaurant, the staff and the spa were all of the highest quality. There is not another hotel like it in the UK in my opinion.

I stayed on Sunday 22nd March (Mothers Day) and whilst the hotel was lovely it did look a little tatty in the rooms (marked carpets, cracked floor in the bathroom) Beautiful views and on the whole the rooms/breakfast was lovely. Did have a BIG problem with the Afternoon Tea though.
