The staff were all exceedingly pleasant and helpful.
The airconditioning was non-existent. The heating in the room did not work.The television could hardly be heard on some of the channels, almost disappearing altogether on the films we ordered. There was no net curtain on our window (we had a garden room) so we had to keep the heavy curtains closed all the time as there were people constantly walking or sitting in the garden outside our room. The toiletries were very basic (no shower cap, for example).

I booked this stay for my husband and myself.I would highly recommend it, the staff was welcoming and very friendly.The hotel you could not fault,the room was great and above all it was spotless. I would also like to add the gym,pool facilities was great, as was room service, very quick, good food and a good variety for breakfast.

I was able to select a 'smoking' room, and the room had a balcony.
Despite being able to select a 'smoking' room, the literature in the room suggested there was nowhere you could smoke in the hotel without incurring a fine!

Ease of booking, open late for late arriving, bar open, pleasant staff
Nice breakfast buffet.
It would have been better had there been a sandwich menu available rather than have to go to the room and get room service. I know it was late but if sandwiches are available in the room then it seems strange one cannot get a sandwich in the bar while having a drink. After travelling, it would have been nice. There is nothing open on the way from the airport and therefore unless we took room service we could have nothing to eat.

Bed was very comfortable and shower was easy to use. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. Pool, sauna and gym facilities made the stay worth the money we paid, JUST.
The staff were great apart from when we first arrived the girl logging us in didnt know how to us the computer properly and kept on having to ask a colleague for help. There was peeling paint to one ceiling corner of the room in which we stayed. There was a wedding on the saturday night and the music went on till midnight and people outside talking till the early hours directly outside our balcony.

A good-sized room. The WiFi/unlimited movie special deal for five pounds was good value. Bar and restaurant areas good, as usual with Mercure. Nice to be away from the city centre, though a bit of a hassle for bus service (not hotel's fault, of course). My experience after staying at several Mercures in France and the UK is that they are very good value.
Restaurant is a wee bit overpriced, but what isn't in the UK these days? I guess I should just give up on anyone in Britain making decent hotel coffee, as well. I guess they were understaffed and exceptionally busy, but I found one of the desk staff just a bit the wrong side of rudeness. (Everyone else was absolutely fine).

The staff were fantastic and very helpful,great value, and the resteraunt food was excellent although a bit pricey, but definately would stay again, but watch out they sting you on the drinks.
