Bastion Hotel Zaandam

It was very expensive, especially for a Saturday night.

This is clearly a business hotel, in terms of location and style. We stayed there because we had to attend a cremation, and crematotium is next door. Because there were not many guests, there was only one staff member present, which was sometimes difficult if you wanted to check out some quick questions. It surprised me that the smoking room was open just next to the reception. You could smell the smoke when the building came. All in all, the hotel was no better or worse than we expected. As the last question below, I would not exactly recommend this hotel unless you specifically on this particular site.

This hotel offers all the comfort and convenience it says it will. The mini bar could have been a little more stocked but it was nice to have a kettle in the room for early morning beverages. Food was well presented with good portions. Would return to this chain of hotels and recommend to fellow travellers.

Even is a little bit remote - you need like 20 minutes to get in Amsterdam (Central Station), the hotel is very nice. I much appreciated the quite surroundings and the cleanliness of the room. Free wireless internet is a great plus if you are travelling for business.

Very small rooms, not much comfort.
