Although the hotel was really lovely and the scenary beautiful we found it fell down on service. We came dowb the first morning to breakfast, they were lines of people waiting to be seated in the restaurant, no one cleared the tables, there was no food in the buffet or they kept running out, people were clearing the own tables in the end. I know you can be caught out on a busy day but I felt this was more bad training or bad management of restaurant. Also we ordered wraps/sandwiches for lunch in the bar and an hour later they still hadn't arrived and I had to remind the waiter that took my order. He said the kitchen was very busy but I didn't think that was a good enough answer they should be able to cater for the bar food even if they have a party going on in the function room. Even if we got an apology or explanation while we were waiting we would have been happy enough to wait At 4.00pm I went back to my room to relax and the beds hadn't been dressed yet Also we didn't find the lady on reception very pleasant.

This is by far the nicest hotel i Ireland we have stayed in. The setting is superb and the staff couldn't be more helpful especially Louise on reception who immediately relocated us to a room with a magnificent view after our first room didn't have such a good view. The ambience of the hotel is great and the log fire in reception was very relaxing especially after dinner! I would most definately recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to come back

Even though it was an off season stay it was excellent value. The food and service in the restraunt was well above average by hotel standards. Its location and remoteness made it very attractive but also being within a short walk from the village.

It was a very enjoyable break . It was very evident no expense was spared in the construction of the hotel and the location could not be better . We enjoyed the trips around South Kerry . The views were spectacular as always although the weather for March was the norm for this time of year .

Overall enjoyed a pleasant weekend, however the fire alarm went off at half past eight on the Sunday morning. Everyone had to evacuate the hotel as there was a fire in the wheelie bins. These wheelie bins should not have been placed so close to the hotel as they are a fire hazard. The staff should have used the P.A system to instruct visitors to proceed to the designated assembley area .When we returned to our rooms fire alarm kept going off repeately for at least an hour as there was no rest we checked out. It was a bad end to such a nice weekend.

We both found the hotel very comfortable and the found was very good. The foyer was good and spacious. One point to note was that we found that it was very cold in the main structure of the building (possibly to do with the air-con turned too high). The staff were very helpful and courteous. The car park was a decent size too. Also to note the signage within the village was not particularly clear especially at night so decent signage is a must.
