The Inn at Dromoland

Room cold & not very clean - sink & bath & general appearance of room old and faded the sink and bath were yellowing and not very nice, counterpanes, carpet were stained - food, room, taxis, drinks all overpriced - we stayed at the clare inn as it stated it was within walking distance of the Dromoland Castle & that the walk itself was within the grounds of the hotel - however this was not the case at all & there was no direct access - we had to use taxis to & from the castle - would definately not use this hotel or indeed the chain again!

Very friendly staff - 6 year old daughter loved it - good facilities (swimming, tennis, etc) Remote location - car or taxi needed to get anywhere. However, a 10-15 minute walk along the road leads to the grounds of Dromoland Castle & Country Club - very picturesque, and appealing to any golfers.

Kids are left run riot at night, food is awful, staff in restaurant are clueless and poorly supervised, to many tacky vending machines and arcade games which lure the kids!! Nice amentities outside, playground, crazy golf, pitch & putt, the pool is ok but dated. Verdict, never again.

An excellent hotel for a family vacation and central to all towns and historic sites .
