Holiday Inn Express Arras, an IHG Hotel

Very unhappy about the fact that we had paid for the room and told us that it was not paid! He had returned by mail the invoice to be paid back in a second time!

The best breakfast we have ever had at a Holiday Inn Express (or many other fancier hotels!)

It was very noisy with trains running outside our window. Woken up at 2.30 am by trains and never got back to sleep. Received compensation by way of not paying for car parking or tourist taxes but this did not compensate for us having no sleep after driving 7 hours through France and moving onto to Belgium that morning!

Helpful staff, comfortable beds, clean bathroom and qood choice at breakfast.

Car parking arrangements

Reception staff helpful and spoke excellent English. Good location and convenient parking.

Building was far too hot. We were initially given room 401, so hot and the air con was too noisy to keep on through night. Also experienced a non stop 'electrical hum' which through the night prevented us from sleeping. We mentioned this the next morning at reception and were moved to 312, which had quiet air con and we also asked for the window to be opened. Can't understand why the building needs to be so hot. Have since seen other reviews which comment on the heat and noisy air con in some rooms. If returning, would have to ask for one of the quiet rooms and if found to be noisy would immediately report it rather than waiting to the next morning.

It is well located for the station and the town. Most important the staff are efficient and friendly and as a result I always use this hotel whenever I visit Arras. The parking is good and the lift from the car park to the hotel lobby is convenient. Breakfast is quick and well presented.
