THE HOTEL IS SMALL BUT THE PEOPLE ARE VERY FRIENDLY. ASK FOR A ROOM IN THE BACK. YOU WON'T HAVE A VIEW BUT IT WILL BE QUIET. THE INTERNET IS FREE. THE BREAKFAST IS SUFFICIENT. IT'S LOCATED ACROSS FROM THE TRAIN STATION THEREFORE IN EASY REACH OF THE TRAINS GOING TO CINQUE TERRE. WE SPEND 5 DAYS AND VISITED THE CINQUE TERRE, LERICI, AND PORTOVENERE, ALL WONDERFUL AND PICTURESQUE TOWNS. THERE ARE 37 STEPS TO VIA FIUME WHICH IS PARALLEL TO THE TRAIN STATION. IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF LUGGAGE IT'S NOT EASY BUT WE FOUND A WAY. WHEN WE CAME WE THREW ALL THE LUGGAGE DOWN THE STAIRS BUT WHEN WE LEFT WE FOUND A BETTER WAY. CROSS VIA FIUME GO RIGHT AND ABOUT 25 YDS TURN LEFT AND THERE IS A STREET, WHERE THE TAXIS ARE, AND YOU CAN ROLL YOUR LUGGAGE TO THE TRAIN STATION THUS AVOIDING THE STAIRS.

To visit Portovenere you can take a but and then the boat to Lerici. You can return to La Spezia from Lerici by bus. Levanto, which is north of Monterosso is not worth spending the time. The Cinque Terre are worth the trip. All, maybe with the exception of Corniglia, are worth visiting and you won't regret it. Try to go in the afternoon when the sun is shinning on all these places. From Manarolla to Riomagiore you can take Via Dell'Amore, it's an easy walk and you'll have a lot of fun.
