Heating did not work in bedroom

A very enjoyable stay at a good price.The reception manager was very efficient and pleasant.

The bar staff ( two girls ) on Friday 7th November @ circa 7.00pm were not very efficient.They didn't know what a scotch and American was !!!They thought the AMERICAN WAS GINGER BEER !!

Comfortable rooms and friendly staff.

Couple next door having a domestic at 2am. Rang reception and eventually after 15minutes they answered and said it was kids. We told them it was the room next door or above us and they didn't seem interested. The noise continued for at least an hour and the language they were using was disgusting. We thought the hotel night staff would do something about it, but no they didn't. Ths really spoilt our stay at a very good hotel and would deter us from booking it again.

Le cadre (vieux pub anglais avec poutres apparentes, moquette épaisse et planchers qui craquent) était très sympathique.

A notre arrivée, on nous avait réservé des chambres dans l'annexe 'moderne", beaucoup plus impersonnelle,et nous avons demandé à changer.

The location couldn't have been better. Right in the centre of a quaint little town. Our room was in an annexe at the back of the hotel, so it was very quiet even though we were on the main street of Dorking.

While the room was comfortable and had all my requirements I was surprised to see dust on various pieces of furniture and the lampshades were torn and patchy. The room was warm and I managed to work the air conditioning unit, but didn't know how to turn it off. Instructions would be useful and might save the hotel some money on energy bills. I tried to call the front desk a couple of times to ask for an extra towel, but the phone didn't appear to work. The next time I went through reception I asked for an extra towel and received a surprised expression, I did receive the towel, but it took some explanation. Also there were a few times when I went to the desk to ask for something and there was no-one around.

Friendly efficient staff, comfortable rooms, lovely bar

I was in room 54? There did seem to be the sound of water continuously running and the noise from doors closing was a bit off putting however that wouldn't prevent me staying there again.

The location

The room was so warm that it made us both feel ill despite the fact that the radiator was switched off. I did tell the receptionist but nobody came to check. We actually couldn't wait to get out of the room it was so uncomfortably hot.

Lovely Hotel with excellent breakfast.
