Got a good deal on a family room. Hotel very quiet. Unfortunately the spa area was under construction which wasn't stated at the time of booking. However, very comfortable stay.

We were attending a funeral the morning after our stay.Upon arrival were told there was no record of our booking. Despite showing our booking reference we were told they had no room for us and we were sent to their sister hotel. Here reception tried to charge the same amount even though the rooms were €11 cheaper. In lieu of this we were offered 2 breakfasts (€12.50 each) even though we'd booked 4 rooms for 8 people. Best of all the hotel then tried to charge us for 'free' breakfast on checkout.

Our room was about a mile from the front door. The breakfast was cooked for hours.(which we were overcharged for!!) The evening meal (Bar) we had on arrival was meat that had been cooked since lunchtime. Will not be returning or recommending Breaffy House Hotel.

I booked 2 rooms in the hotel via the internet. The options on the hotel web page indicated the double rooms had a double and single bed in each and that most rooms had a view of the stunning grounds. Unfortunately the room we were allocated bore no relation to the description. It was small and extremely stuffy with 1 double bed. The view: the hotel roof was as good as it got. Worse still, the noise from a band or disco in one of the function rooms filtered through until the wee small hours and when that was over there was the constant hum from a heating unit (or something with a motorised sound) to keep us company for the remainder of the night. I am sure you will agree, not the most pleasant experience after driving for 4 hours to get there.
