The Cook Book Gastro Boutique Hotel & Spa

Our stay was for 3 nights half board in January, very much off season so we did not make use of the outside pool & terraces etc,but they did look immaculately kept as indeed was the whole Hotel. However,the Spa was fully operational and a real treat. Perhaps due to the time of year, (the resort itself was very quiet with few visitors), the food choice at dinner was limited, but the quality of the food itself and its preparation and presentation was excellent. There was a full choice of hot & cold dishes at breakfast, which again was excellent. The above, together with a comfortable well equiped bedroom and friendly,helpfull staff, made this one of the best hotels we have stayed in

Set back in a residential area of Calpe, the hotel is 10/15 mins walk to the front but, unless you really must be right on the beach, don't let this put you off. It's not the most beautiful of walks but at least it's flat !

The rest, we were looking there was perfect, the location is also excellent and an excellent service and friendly staff.

We had your junior suite with Jacuzzi. The only thing was very annoying is that the door between a lot of noise from behind, so every word was heard from the neighbors, let alone what happened during the night. So in this regard is that for me very quickly "addressed" to be. Also the lighting in this suite is not done well, because you have no choice, namely: when the lights, as then you're completely in the spotlight, they are not too dim and so very cold light and no atmosphere. We have the lights out to do, and only the bedroom lights can do with a small light what a desk is at the entrance of the room, making it turn too dark was, and therefore but then the lights in the bathroom done. It is much simpler by an additional (vertical) light in the room (in the event the TV.) then I think the "problem" solved.

The facility is very tasteful. The staff very courteous.

ACCOMMODATION WAS EXCELLENT.THE EVENING MEAL WE HAD WAS OUTSTANDING.STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. WISH WE COULD HAVE STAYED LONGER.ONE,IF NOT THE,HIGHLIGHT OF OUR VISIT TO SPAIN.
