Convenient location and helpful staff.

The bed was a little too hard for our comfort. Didn't sleep well.

Stop over.

We have stayed at this hotel on many occasions and have never been disappointed. However, on this occasion.

Unfortunately we were booked in at the same time as a large group with some very unruly children who constantly ran around the tables of other guests yelling and shouting. I fully understand that it's parents who are responsible for this unruly behaviour whose children have obviously not been taught how to behave in a restaurant. However I would have expected the duty manager or one of the other two overstretched staff on duty to have said something to the parents or the children concerned. Unfortunately the large group of about twelve had pre-booked their table taking up half the restaurant several hours before actually sitting down for a meal. This meant that those people in the restaurant inconvenienced by this behaviour could have had their meal and departed leaving the unruly children to upset no-one. Their tables had been put out of use much too far in advance of them actually using them. Also it was quite a cold and windy evening and a rear door had been left open creating a mini freezer around those tables near the kitchen doorway. We asked to be moved from the original table we were offered because of this. Other people who came later wrapped up and put up with the cold draught and unruly children ruining their meal after probably a long journey. However we will probably book up here again but if we are displeased a second time then other hotels will be our priority.

Location.

Convenience of location to the port.

Comfortable Clean Mattress,Warm clean accomadation,Hot bath and shower.Very secure parking which is essential when travelling with goods on route. Motorhomes would feel very secure here.

The only downside is the restaurant we personally felt since the update the campanile hotels have lost the warmth and ambience in this area, now feel it is too clinical..Not a relaxing feeling alittle self service feel.Would look to eat elsewhere which is a shame.

Friendly staff & pleasant atmosphere.

The steak served at dinner was seriously overcooked and tough, which seemed a shame since it was described as a "speciality". One of the bedside lamps in our room failed.

The hotel has been refurbished in the restaurant area but the rest is very very tired aqnd worn. The sink and bath had no plug, the outside of the room looked scruffy and needed painting badly. The reception staff were not friendly but the restaurant staff were very nice. You need to upgrade the outside of the rooms and check the inside too, they smell of damp.

The whole package. The staff were attentive the room was great (warm) extra pillows, tea and coffee plus biscuits. The restaurant was enjoyable the whole stay was excellent.
