The hotel's location on Rembrandtplein, right next to the Amstel, puts everything worth seeing within walking distance. The staff at the desk are also some of the most helpful you will find. You also get fresh towels every day, which is pretty rare for a hotel in this price range. Pretty good value for money if you are travelling on a shoestring, but are reluctant to share rooms with drunk teenagers in a hostel.
Like most other hotels in Amsterdam, the rooms here are small and the walls are thin, which coupled with the hotel's location next to some bars means it can get pretty noisy at night. And if you had randy neighbours as I had, you will be forced to put up with the sound of their amorous nocturnal activities, which is not the most pleasant. Rooms and bathrooms are not as clean as I am used to, but judging by the reviews of other hostels and hotels in Amsterdam, this hotel is definitely above average in this department.

Very friendly staff, great location in the center of the city (although a bit noisy). Clean interior. Decent breakfast for 7 euro. Good if you don't intend to spend much time at the hotel. Well you do not go to Amsterdam to sit in the hotel! Don't expect for a top notch class, you get is what you pay for.
The bed in our room was very uncomfortable. The noise from the square. It is not terrible but not quite during late evening hours.

Service was very friendly
Very dark room without air and lots of noise from the aircondition vent from the kitchen outside our room. Veery steep stairs to get into hotel and you have to work your way through the terras users at the bar underneath the hotel. Loads of noise from rembrandt square activities.

Staff very friendly and helpful, well located, comfortable and good value.
Being in a single room was on top floor with 4 sets of stairs to climb, last one very steep, would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems, but thankfully did not affect me.

GREAT LOCATION. EASY ACCESS FOR THOSE WHO ARRIVES IN THE CITY BY THE TRAIN STATION. DESPITE BEING SITUATED IN FESTIVE Rembrandt Square, is rather quiet. EMPLOYEES are courteous and helpful. AFTER THE CHECK OUT YOU CAN SAVE THE BAGS TO SAFELY REMOVE THEM LATER. BATHROOM CLEAN AND WITHOUT PROBLEMS.
ME BEEN CHARGED FOR BREAKFAST WHEN THAT WAS INCLUDED IN ACREDITVA RATES.

The room was clean and the beds were relatively comfortable. The place has character, with winding staircases, and low ceilings in places (watch your head). I have been to Amsterdam three times, and this is definitely a great location.
