Sunday breakfast should n't be served so late due to some travellers like us who had to leave very early.

The hotel has a nice atmosphere and offers a good breakfast. The price is reasonable for the spacious well-furnished rooms and the location is excellent.
Since the hotel serves only breakfast, guests have to go out for other meals. Light salads or toasted sandwiches available in the bar would be great with a drink in the evening.

The fact that the hotel is very near the centre of the wonderful city of Alkmaar, the beautiful people, good food. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice. Staff work very hard to make you feel welcome.
The fridge did not work (although we did not mention this to the staff) the room could use a deep clean from time to time, dusk under the desk and around the fridge area (both of these were small problem).

Spacious rooms, neatly furnished. Perfect bedding. Bathroom very well done. Security locks and provisions sufficient.
Position of the hotel perfect: just outside the walls of the old town, a couple of minutes pleasant walking from the main streets.
Considering the number of beds it is a pity that breakfast facilicities and bar are absolutely insufficient. To wait for your breakfast turn untill 1030hrs is not acceptable.
Front office was not running smoothly. In case of a full house it is not in the interest of the clients in front of the desk to see the manager instructing fresh staff about the correct procedures of paperwork. Which easely can be done in the quite moments.
The girls involved were doing well: friendly and welcoming. Smiling. Cannot be said about the manager. Guests do not like to wait untill he has finished his paperwork before his "good afternoon!" finally.
Guest like a friendly word, even a small one, or a head knod from the manager when passing his desk. Which frequently failed.
