Convenient for conference, staff very helpful.
Net curtains in our room were very dirty and the room was cold - no heating On our second night we asked for and were given a heater.

Anytime I ever go to York by train, I'm staying here. Get off the train and walk into the hotel lobby...(Surprisingly, we heard no train station racket ever!!) And it's right outside of the city walls. Walk everywhere. Very nice hotel, reasonable value. Great Breakfast!!
Our friends that were with us on this booking, had no water pressure at all in their room (During peak shower hours in the A.M.) Our room was fine.

We have previously stayed at The Royal york. its location is ideal for visiting the city or as we do attend functions at The Minster. The car parking is a great advantage for us. the staff particularly the concierge team are always very helpful and pleasant.

Large building, lovely and warm , calm atmosphere, good towels and a clean room. Breakfast was fine too -better than most larger hotels.
Although we did not intend to drink much alcohol during the evening, the bar prices were overboard - small glass of house red wine and a pint of lager £10.00, so this represented very poor value in terms of what would have been a great weekend.
Ladies changing room in the swimming facility were poor, just an open space for changing oneself in - had to squash into a toilet for privacy - not nice

Yes, missing five days to use my reservation, I had problems and had to postpone my trip by one week, after numerous emails not answered, when I checked in Panama, I was at the reception of the hotel and I personally asked the attendant to change the date the existing reservations and charged my card for 6 days ahead and that would still be beyond the day I asked to delay another day and still not atenderam.Resultado me, I lost one already paid daily and win and I met another hotel . Location quite central to the city centre. Lot of open spaces within the hotel complex.
delicious breakfast. Self service.
Spa not working, steam room not working, breakfast at extra cost. Our room number was 323 facing the station. some disturbance from the station meant that we could not leave the window open at night.
