The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was very central yet the room was quiet.
We ate in on the meal deal and were a little disappinted when we found that the menu which was no on display when we arrived but was on display at 4.30 pm had been replaced by a completely different menu. We would have preferred the original menu which we noticed was on display on Saturday evening when we had to take our leave of York.

Excellent location and the service was exceptional.

Priority appeared to be given to coach party and although I'd booked and paid for two rooms well in advance (6 months), the hotel was overbooked and I had to make a fuss to secure our prebooked and paid for accommodation. The hotel had also epxerienced a power cut/surge so dining facilities were extremely limited.

Proximity to centre of the city
Small double bed, no extractor fan in bathroom, bad lighting, uncomfortable pillows, shabby decor, generally, a very low opinion of a hotel that says it is a 4-star hotel: it is only just 3-star. Overall opinion, it was extremely bad value for money and we only used it as a B&B.
