Tivoli Marina Vilamoura

The rooms have an outdated decor, which results in wear of some essential equipment, such as curtains, which did not include enough seal off the outside light, impairing sleep. The spa facilities are also old and uninviting, and not adjust to the hotel category in current times.

Eventually moving rooms.

We had 2 nights at the TIVOLI but disappointed at the room which hadnot been refurbished, the hotel was again quite empty so I asked reception to move us as the room smelled of smoke & was not of 5 Star standard, we paid a little bit extra for a refurbished room and it was like night & day; if we had not been moved we would have checked out and gone back to the Crowne Plaza, I don't understand when a hotel is empty to give you the worse rooms, I do understand that we did not pay a lot of money for the hotel however, we might never have come back. The rest of the Hotel was really lovely, the Bar was fantastic and the breakfast was very nice; we ate one night in Pepper's Restaurant and the food was just okay, although the restaurant itself was stunning. I believe the hotel is closing to complete the refurbishment and I am sure it will then be up to a standard but I don't think it will match the standard of the room at the hotel.

The Buffet Breakfast was excellent, Lunch and Dinner was very samey boring after 3 days but worth a try. The situation of the hotel means you do not get full sun on the balcony bit disappointing but views make up for it. An excellent holiday would recommend hotel best I have stayed in and I am well travelled.

We enjoyed our stay in the Tivoli Marinotel. Everything was as we wished.

Changing the layout, with new areas or at least more explicit.

In my room, where I was with my wife just had a towel to dry hands, while in two of my daughters had. Corrected only on Sunday.
