The furniture on the balcony was dirty and in poor condition, let the rooms dwn

Our room and view were magnificent. Very clean warm and tidy.

Paying for parking.

Good breakfast and very adequate car parking facilities. reasonable bedroom. Open air pool - very pleasant and heated a little to a good temperature with no excessive chlorine. Good location, walking distance to the harbour.

Rather a "faded splendour" aspect about the hotel, as I have reviewed direct to them. Public areas are OK but, for a top class hotel in Torquay, there are a few things awry. Two false fire alarms did not help - the system is set off by people having showers/baths and leaving the bathroom door open, apparently. I had a daily battle with the showerhead to keep it pointing in the right direction. Only one chair in a double bedroom. Much of the garden appeared somewhat overgrown. Little things, on their own insignificant, mounted up. It didn't help either that the guest lift to the floor I was on was out of order for 2 days.

Luckily I had the confirmation from Eurobookings so they did give us a room and upgraded us to a lovely sea view suite.

When we arrived service at the front desk was very slow, then when we got to the front desk they didn't have our reservation and tried to make us pay again.

An interesting mix of modern and old in this grand building. We had a room with a balcony with fantastic views.

It was disappointing to have to pay car parking and for internet access.

The breakfasts were superb, as were the views from the breakfast room.

The bedroom with a sea view and balcony the power shower the staff especially the cleaners the breakfast ....... everything really

Nothing was to much trouble for the staff food was excellant room very clean

I was upgraded for free - lovely room - alas I arrived late and left early and did not have time to enjoy view from the balcony/patio

Just confusion about the lifts - there are two sets of lifts - the first set are clearly signed as you leave reception. However there is no mention of another lift. I was told to push button 'M' for my level - no M on lift - after a few journeys up and down and a walk round found another set of lifts with 'M' - all OK in the end

Both the reception and room service/restaurant bar staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. Food was very nice too.

Loved the hotel, loved the room with balcony and seaview, will be staying again, thankyou.
