Quality and service of food

The shower wasn't really a shower. More of a dribble.

All new! I remember the old Rose and Crown from when I lived in Tonbridge. Nice bathroom, nice bed.

I found the room very hot and stuffy on arrival, despite there being no heating switched on and the outside temperature not all that warm.

Nice hotel in old English style. Very friendly staff.

The food. But I remembered that I have had in England.

Very nice newly refurbished room.

Not a criticism but the main dining room was in the process of being refurbished and therefore a true impression of the hotel was not possible.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly reception. Room was very quiet & comfortable.

Water pressure in the bathroom sink was very low, wasn't a serious enough problem to want to change room but just so you know.

Very pleasant and obliging staff. Breakfast was excellent!

Problems with the car park barrier made arrival difficult. It would have been helpful to have directions to the car park (which are anything but obvious!) clearly outlined when making reservation Configuration of the en-suite bathroom is dreadful and dangerous! (Because of fixed shower screen - getting into and out of bath is difficult!) To plug kettle in, it was necessary to crawl under desk! Not easy at my age(!!) - nor was having the kettle on the floor!

Location was good for what we wanted, that was the only thing that was good. It was very poor value for money.

It was tatty, and needed a good face-lift. The toilet in our room did not flush on the last night, and the one in my mothers room leaked. The plug for the hairdryer would not stay in the socket.

The wedding reception food was good. The staff cleared up after the wedding reception very quickly and efficiently.

We do not think it deserves a three star rating. Our room was shabby and delapidated in parts e.g. the windows need replacing as they were obviously rotten, the soft furnishings were frayed and there were worn out coverings to chairs and the net curtains had not been washed for a long time. There were not enough drawers for our clothes and we had to put some of them on the floor of the wardrobe. The toilet did not flush efficiently and we could not change the water temperature on the shower which leaked - there was blue stain where it leaked into the bath. There was mold around the shower control. Poor service at breakfast with several items running out e.g. fruit and yoghurt and the toast was more like warm bread. Definately not worth £8.75. There appeared to be a neglected car in the car park which had been there for some time.
