Main reason for choosing Agriturismo Al Marnich: Location

The food was superb. The owners were so generous, hospitable, helpful and kind. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return when I am in the area. It is a windy drive to Agriturismo but well worth the time and effort. Continue to drive over the mountain the next morning and arrive by Lugano. I would recommend a least a 2 night stay, if possible. English understanding is good.

The view is magnificent Valley hospitality is very warm and the food is simple, very cool since everything is produced locally and delicious.
Access to the holtel (small path in the mountains not obvious to find the first time and access to cars (small parking lot on clay and slope)

Very beautiful place, great food and wine, friendly staff and reliable, much better view from the terrace
Check in a bit limiting (22.00) and slightly out-of-the-way to reach, but are still factors in line with the kind of place

We flew to Milano Melpensa from where we drove to the hotel. Around an hour drive passing Como town and yes - going up the mountain. When you feel like you might have driven too far up the mountain - you're probably half way there:-) We arrived pretty late due to a traffic jam, but there was no problem checking-in late. Had a late dinner,which was excellent - they only serve organic food - and the staff was very helpfull on arrival. Woke up next morning to the sound of cowbells, dogs and sheep - only natures sound - and a breath-taking view. We stayed for 2 nights - ate at the restaurant both nights and enjoyed every second of it.

The location, the ambience of the place, the sound of cow-bells, sheep and dogs in the morning. The food in the restaurant and the lovely people running the place. The view overlooking the village in the morning and the crisp mountain air.

Our stay at Al Marnich was delightful ... the accommodation unique ... the food exceptional ... the owners very welcoming. The drive up the hill was breathtaking (frightful)! but well worth it and it prepared us for the Amalfi Coast drive.

Good location at reasonable rates.
Was disappointed that it was an additional 20 Euro to light the fire ... not mentioned on the webb site. Part of the appeal on the site is seeing the rooms with fire place and imagining a nice romantic evening in front of a glowing fire. I would rather have given up the room service for one nights fire!
