Fabulous Village

Very unhappy about the fact that we had paid for the room and told us that it was not paid! He had returned by mail the invoice to be paid back in a second time!

Privacy of your own cabin with cooking, showering, kitchen facility with table and seating. The covered outdoor deck was wonderful for eating and enjoying the outdoors. The activities to participate in was extensive and one could stay there for the entire week for an excellent vacation. We used it a base for our exploration of Rome - it was a quick bus ride to the Eur-ferme metro station which takes you right into rome...the bus leaves every 30 minutes and the metro station runs every 5 minutes, It was convenient and safe and enjoyed the activities of a resort and Rome too!

They have an ant problem and their response was we are in a forest so there are ants. Bring some cinnamon (ants will not cross it) to make a barrier at the front door and window ledge that are frequented by ants. They are small, non biting ants so it wasn't a big deal...you just can't leave anything out or they will be there in a flash.

Wir waren bereits zum 2. Mal beim Camping Village Fabulous und hatten einen privaten Bungalow für zwei Personen gebucht. Der Bungalow verfügte über einen Schlafraum mit 2 Betten (ein drittes klappbar), Schränke als Stauraum, einer Ablage (oder kleine Arbeitsplatte), Klimaanlage und Kühlschrank, sowie nebenan einem kleinen Bad mit Dusche, Toilette und Waschbecken. Alles war sehr sauber und gut gepflegt. Der Bungalow ist eine von zwei Wohneinheiten, die sich auf einem Fahrgestell befinden (ähnlich einem Wohnwagen für zwei Parteien). Natürlich merkt man, wenn der Wohnungsnachbar hin- und herläuft oder duschen geht, aber das beruht auf Gegenseitigkeit und ist nicht weiter störend, es sei denn, beide Parteien möchten den gesamten Urlaub nur im Bungalow verbringen. Camping Village Fabulous liegt auf einem Hügel etwa 15km von der Stadtmitte Roms entfernt. Der Platz befindet sich unter hohen alten Pinien, die herrlichen Schatten spenden und unter denen es sich auch in der Mittagssonne Italiens gut aushalten läßt - wenn es allzu warm wird gibt's die Klimaanlage. Am Rande des Campingplatzes gibt es kostenlos einen sehr schönen und großen Pool mit Sonnenliegen, Animation (wer's braucht) und einem fantastischen Ausblick auf die unter einem liegende Stadt. Weiterhin gibt's Eisdielen, einen kleinen Markt in dem man alles Notwendige bekommt, ein Restaurant, Waschmöglichkeiten, ein Internetcafé und WiFi (in einigen Bereichen). Das Personal ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Einige sprechen sehr gut deutsch - wer etwas Englisch beherrscht hat überhaupt keine Probleme. An der Information kann man sich über angebotene Ausflugsfahrten informieren und auch gleich die Teilnahme buchen. Hier bekommt man auch die Fahrscheine für die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel in Rom. Eine Fahrkarte, die 75 Minuten gültig ist, kostet 1 Euro. In dieser Zeit erreicht man bequem mit dem Bus (Linie 709 hält direkt neben dem Platz) und der Metro (Linie B) jeden Punkt in Rom. Wir bauchten im Schnitt etwa 40 Minuten bis zum Colosseum. Der Nahverkehr fährt von früh Morgens (etwa ab 6.00 Uhr) bis Mitternacht. Man hat genügend Zeit um neben den Sehenswürdigkeiten auch etwas vom schönen Nachtleben Roms zu erleben. Alles in allem können wir Fabulous nur empfehlen. Wir werden den Platz auch bei unserem nächsten Aufenthalt in die engere Wahl einbeziehen.

No. We have a long time and nothing has occurred to us. We expected no 5-star hotel with full board and a land of plenty - and who does should choose something else. For all others (including families with children) Fabulous is a good solution. One more thing yet: in Italy there are only rare footpaths alongside the road. Although the Italians are more considerate, unlike the German motorists over pedestrians on the street, you feel somewhat uncomfortable when you have to go on the way to the bus stop and back up the road. It would make sense in our opinion, to create a footpath.
