Main reason for choosing Grand Hotel Portovenere: Location
The hotel is well located overlooking the port. We were given a room with a view which we had not requested which was fantastic. The room was very small though and you had to stand in front of the window to see anything.
We were not overwhelmed with the staff or lack or service. The hotel could be a terrific place if anyone cared. It may have to do with the huge number of daytrippers to Portovenere rather that overnight stays, but if they were enterprising might try to capitalize on that someway. They have a terrific view but it is not easily accessed or utilized for drinks or meals.

The view over the harbor from our room was superb!.
Lack of information on parking conditions in the park. Public park close to the hotel, but at a price of Euro 30, the 24 hours without reduction for hotel guests.
