Hotel Olimpico

Overall this is a lovely hotel which is appropriately priced and we really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel.

The hotel is ok, its clean and nice enough stay. It did not however meet with my expectations and I left somewhat disapointed. This is supposed to be a 4*, its that at a push. I would say a more glorified 3*. The food however is so far off 4* quality it's not even funny. There are a number of problems with this hotel, particularly the location and the food. The hotel is about 20 mins drive from Salerno which means you need a car to be able to do anything. It is also on a street that turns into the local red light disrict at night with women of ill repute all the way along. The hotel restaurant is also dire, and that is being polite... it borders on inedible. The restraurant manager is a pain in the backside, looking down at you over his glasses and doing nothing else but walk round and bark orders at other staff. He would also watch you while you eat and I hate that with a passion, It resembles a late 80s restaurant in feel and one I never want to experience again. I would understand if he didn't like us but he did it to everyone. If you are going here - drive into Salerno at night to eat, it is very reasonable in the restaurants along the harbour front. Stear well clear of the restaurant. If you want my view, this hotel is ok for families who are happy with a pool and not much more but other than that I would go elsewhere.

Terrific hotel, great value for money, modern, lovely swimming pool and landscaping. Comfortable beds. Close to bus service but it takes about 30 minutes to get into town and the buses don't run very frequently. Excellent meals. The location enabled us to plan day trips to Amalfi, Positano, and Pompei.

As for the hotel no objection, I think that its only real drawback is its collocazione.Se you look carefully the area where it is, seems almost a cathedral in the desert!

Well located for visiting Paestum and the Amalfi peninsula; excellent staff with good recommendations; privacy surrounding the hotel; good bar with lovely patio and pool; good breakfast; great shower!
