The Chequers Hotel is comfortable, the staff extremely friendly and very helpful, and located close to the shopping centre. This was our third visit. A lovely place for a short break with someone special.

I really liked the location. It was at the top of High Street, so the shops, the outdoor market, library, and places to eat were all within walking distance.
I was unable to use the hotel's Wi-Fi. My computer wouldn't recognize the router. I ended up going to local coffee shops to use their Wi-Fi, which was free.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Going back on 13th and 14th December.
Bathroom needed updating, shower not good neither was the shower curtain! This was room 104. Going to a different room on our return.

Very close to centre of Newbury rooms very clean breakfast very good staff helpful had a great stay
No lift which could be a problem for some, although as its an old building its prob not an option to fit one

Our room was spacious but a long walk from reception and there is no lift. The food was good and the service excellent.
No Lift. wi-fi was only available by payment.

Staff were very helpful , they all tried to make my stay relaxing. Downstairs renovations an improvement
Upstairs rather tired and my bathroom definitely needed an update....SHOWER virtually exfoliated my body!!!!
