Hotel Ilaria

First, be aware that this hotel is split over two sites. The main hotel I’m told has the standard rooms; the annex in which we stayed and is a couple of minutes walk away and has the superior doubles and I take it the suites. This is the only reasonably comfortable hotel we could find within the old city walls, there may be others. It therefore seems to command a high price. The facilities a fine, internet access in the lobby, a modest lounge, bar facility (but not to sit at), free newspapers (no British), free coffee/tea and busuites all day, minibar, good range of toiletries, and breakfast was adequate, albeit much the same for the three days we stayed. The staff attitude varies fro the surly to the very helpful. The terrace would have been a bonus if the weather had been kinder to us. The hotel although o the western side of the walled town, provide reasonable access to the centre. Yes I would go back there, but I’d exhaust any alternative better deal before doing so.

Very nice and generous hotel rooms, very nice hotel staff, excellent buffet breakfast. However, owing to the direct road situation, it is quite noisy at night.

Wunderbar corresponded fully to our expectations. Quiet location, close to city center, easily accessible, parking. Unrestricted recommended.
