Elegant building, comfortable rooms, very good central location
I did not like that the hotel doesn't provide face wash cloths (flannels) I didn't think to bring one from home because everywhere I've ever traveled they were provided.
I found the long distance phone rates to be OUTRAGEOUS a 25 minute call to Canada cost me 54.60 quid, that is crazy I did not want to use my smart phone because I feared a roaming charge, but it would have been more reasonable than that

Nice bright room with open outlook. Bar food was good
The sun shone through the bar windows and highlighted the dust on the surfaces and panelling in the room. A regular feather duster over the room would be an idea

Great location, surprisingly quiet for London.
Shame dirty windos obscured what was a great view of the square and beyond.
Only 1 light switch- bedside light could not be operated independantly of the main (oversized light).

Breakfast excellent, service in general excellent. When I had problem with TV tuning a member of staff came immediately to tune it for me.
Staff polite and professional.
This hotel clearly invests in good staff training.
My room was very badly lit and seeing the controls on the heating/air conditioning was near impossible. The poor lighting also made using the TV remote control difficult.
A fairly minor thing but worth mentioning

Il demandent toujours des frais d'extra; petit dejeuner; internet; de l'eau mineral. Les personnels (de l'Europe de l'est) n'ont aucune idée comment il faut traiter des clients.

My sister and i stayed at the hotel russell for 3 nights. we loved everything about the hotel,the location, the service,our twin room, breakfast and the service from the staff was second to none. we will be staying here again on our next visit to london with our families. we had a great rest and walked to oxford st. leister sq. covent grdn, and used the tube station which was only a few mins. from the hotel. many thanks for a great break we will be back
Could not fault anything about the service at this hotel and its location for enjoying london
