Hampstead Britannia Hotel

Upon arrival we received a twin bed room, while we explicitly indicated under customer comments that we preferred a double room. The web site was not very clear on this. It appears that customer comments, made during the internet booking, are not being transferred to the admin of the hotel. Something to improve on! The hotel desk managed to change this, although the lady was not very customer friendly and kept repeating that it was not her fault. As a customer I really don't mind, but like to have solved the problem as asap. Cleanliness was not fully up to standard, partly due to the relative age of the whole interior. Upon entering the room the small table next to the bed was wet and dirty, which we cleaned ourselves. Breakfast was not pleasant due to construction activities ongoing in the building. Why can one not communicate this while making the reservation, so that this will not be a surprise upon arrival?

The strange the first night party (in the hall for parties) to the one in the morning that no one warned us. We could not sleep until I finish ... I think it is a lack of consideration first house on the first floor taking into account the noise produced and second party not to inform customers of the situation so they can decide for us pay the established price despite not being able to rest.

In major need of a make over. Hotel has dated decor. Over priced for what you get. Food was awful - salad looked like it was made days ago.

This hotel is comfortable and warm and not too expensive (for London, of course!). The hotel is very quite and not far from Camden Lock.
