Nothing
The room decor was dated & tired throughout. I was in a room directly above a noisy wedding. The room was damp & smelled with stinking dirty carpets. The hotel was covered in scaffold and the sand from the works being carried out, probably rendering, covered my car.

Very friendly staff at reception.
The en suite, the ceiling was black over the shower/bath with dampness and the room had a smell of cigeratte smoke.

We spent 4 nights in Palm hotel April/May 2009 and were absolutely satisfied. Had read quite a lot reviews we were afraid how it will be in Palm h. But fortunately all our fears disappeared after arrival. We asked in reservation notice for the new room and got it.
Absolutely friendly and helpful staff; nice, clean, big room with plasma TV, towels changed every day, tasty and filling breakfast (was written that continental breakfast is included and full English breakfast for additional GBP 5, but finally full English breakfast was included in the room price, it was pleasant surprise). Bus stop is just in front of the hotel; 30 minutes to Oxford Circus (run every 8-10min during the day, every 20min in the evening). Price per day/room GBP65-nice!
Just bit of noise from the street during the evening, but it was absolutely balanced with overall satisfaction.
