Alexandre Hotel Fira Congress

There was no room booked, although I had a receipt via email. It's really too bad.

We chose this hotel because of the location close to the airport and the shuttle availability. The hotel was also convenient for travel into the city. Most of the staff were very helpful. The young lady, Amanda, couldn't have been more helpful. She was wonderful. The beds were extremely comfortable. The room was not too hot, which hotel rooms often are.

Except for the beds we didn't like the room at all. The ultra modern decor, besides being ugly, was cold and uncomfortable. The lighting system was extremely annoying! When we come into a hotel room we want to turn on lights, not play a guessing game. We got the lights in the toilet to go on once and could never do it again. The sink was impressive, but it would take many litres of water to fill it enough to wash in hot water! The metal shelf behind the bed clattered at the slightest touch. We would have liked a table or counter to place a suitcase on. These are small points (except the lights), but they added up to an uncomfortable experience. The young man in the evening annoyed us by treating the air controllers strike as a joke, while it caused us a great deal of distress and inconvenience. We might recommend the hotel for the location, price and (mostly) helpful staff but we would warn about the features we didn't like. These rooms seem to have been designed by someone who values gadgets above comfort and convenience.
