When we checked in,we were informed that our room was not available because of a problem with the air-conditioning...we were given another room at the Poseidon hotel(belonging to the same group of hotels) for 4 people and were told that it was for the same rate as Jabeque...however the hotel Poseidon was completely below standard and did not seem to be worth the same price that the Jabeque hotel room was for...although they did offer us compensation in the form of full boarding...the meals at the Jabeque was horrible and it was very strange that although the meals were for free,water was chargeable....so we ended up eating out anyways...we were also told to come the next morning to check in...that night one of us lost our Poseidon room key at a nightclub while dancing...we came back and informed the staff that we were ready to pay the damages for the key,however the next morning when we went to check in to Jabeque,we were told by another staff on duty that we could only check in after 2 pm which was check in time...even after we explained that we were asked to come in the morning because of a problem with the room air-conditioning,they were rude and denied...this only meant that there was no problem with any air-conditioning of the room and that the hotel had charged us for the room,put us in another crappy hotel and had given our room to someone else....to top it off...the guy at the lobby was really rude informing us that as we lost the key to the Poseidon hotel we had to pay Euro 50/- as a penalty...we told him that we had already agreed to pay the damages but yet he continued and even started yelling saying that people come to Ibiza to get drunk and lose keys and they have to put up with it...I told him that we were perfectly sober and that for him to make such a statement when he was not present the night before was completely out of line....when the manager came to talk to us we informed him of everything that had happened...the manager however was quite apologetic and decided to compensate us by offering us nightclub passes...when we declined as nightclub passes are freely being distributed anyways on the streets in Ibiza,he ended up waiving our penalty for losing the key...on the whole,hotel room was really nice and hotel manager was really nice but the lobby staff and guest relations staff are very rude,aggressive and the managements way of handling problems was really bad and left us feeling cheated!!
