Nice exterior and communal areas - reception, restaurant, bar etc.
The room was like a shoe box - I expect a bit more for the price we paid. Also wasn't made clear breakfast wasn't included, we were just given the times at check-in and then they attempted to charge my boyfriend £10 for a bowl of muesli. We would never have gone to breakfast if we'd known we had to pay for it. Luckily when I complained the charge was removed!

At det er en type hoteller jeg oppfatter som veldig typisk engelsk - og til en veldig snill pris. Romslig med soveplass og hyggelig rom. Pent eksteriør. Hyggelig personale.
Klart bad/toalett på hoteller i denne prisklassen gjerne er små og ikke så luksuriøse, men det fyllte jo basisbehovene:-)

Guildford is a charming town and the Mandolay is right in the center of the historic heart of the city. Great breakfast, nice bar.
There is no air conditioning in the hotel. While we were there in September when it was only in the high 70s or low 80s, we were in a first floor room and the only way to get fresh air was to open the French doors, which had no screen and couldn't be left open at night. So even though the hotel supplied a fan, the room was unpleasantly stuffy unless the door was open.

Cleanliness and staff helpful
Room on the second floor (114) was too small and very warm - no air conditioning (although a fan was provided). scrambled eggs at breakfast were runny and undercooked
