Courtyard by Marriott London Gatwick Airport

The hotel was perfect for our overnight stay before travelling back to Barbados on an early flight. Everything was great just one criticism.

We booked our table for dinner at 19:30hrs as we wanted to eat early and get an early night. We did not have starters and waited at least 45 minutes for the meal which I feel is too long.

Parking was extra and you did not state this in the booking promotion. There was no included breakfast at a rate that was above the quality. As a Marriott member, I was very unimpressed.

That the hotel was right next to the airport.

That no one at the airport could tell me how to walk to the hotel because it was after 10:00 p.m. and everything at the airport was closed, so I waited one hour for a bus that drove me 1 minute. That the temperature was so low in the room and that the fan blew all night long and that there was no warm cover on the bed, only a summer cover. I unfortunately only discovered the thermostat in the morning. I slept with all my clothes and a hat on.

Pleasant welcome; easy to check in early (i.e. before 3pm); effective soundproofing, no aircraft noise despite being so close to the runway; clean, well-planned bedroom and bathroom. Very helpful staff in reception.

Tricky to realise that the key-card served as a mains breaker for the lighting. After 5 minutes without lighting I saw the slot.

Great, convenient location. Very clean and affordable. Staff were friendly and polite.

Not much to dislike. Although it look good, shower door not very effective, did not prevent water from splashing out onto floor. Wifi was available, but for a fee and was not easy to set up.

Although I had pre paid my accommodationfor the 22nd June.I was asked for a credit card. I only had my travel money card with me . when I checked out the reception said nothing to pay.But your hotel had a 50 pounds pending charge on my card for 10days .as I had returned to Australia 3days later I have had to wait 7days till that pending charge was not taken before I could get my left over holiday funds returned into my bank.I found this very stressful and can only think someone has not done their job correctly.I am grateful that the charge wasnt taken as I would have had to dispute it causing me more anxiety.

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, rooms were comfortable, distance to airport was really walkable.
