Main reason for choosing The Galmont: Facilities
Room, View, Location, Spa & Fitness Centre, Car Parking. Good for business and short stay trips. Less suited for more intimate weekends or longer stays. The bed was very comfortable and the sleep quality was excellent. I enjoyed the complimentary fruit and wine. This a very busy and popular hotel with great potential.
Breakfast was mass produced. We were relegated to the atrium on Sunday where the cleanliness, choice, availability and service was abysmal. The hotel needs a serious makeover to remove stains from the carpets, cigarette burns from the furniture and generally tidy up the public areas. A complaint to the check-out stasis about Sunday breakfast was met with supreme indifference.

We loved the foyer being so bright and welcoming-would be lovely as a meeting place for a wedding party. The room we had was very comfortable.
We found the selection of food for breakfast really good but were very disappointed with the hot food, finding it to be rather tasteless. The scrambled egg seemed to have no flavour. On the second I ordered poached eggs and they were stone cold. I sent them back only to get two much smaller ones- not what I had been hoping for.

Location of room overlooking the water
Door of bedroom rattled everytime another door in the corridor opened or closed. We lessened the impact during our stay by placing folded card between the door jam to fill the gap and prevent rattling.
