The design of the building and rooms and the friendly and helpful staff.
Dinners were Spartan for such a sophisticated establishment, and because of its location, one could not simply walk down the street to find a restaurant.

I loved the place itself, it was gorgeous. I think the staff could have taken the time to inform us about the library, the different sitting rooms and the chapel - which we found completely by accident on our way out.
The pool was lovely, the location was good, within walking distance of the main part of the city, ir you enjoy walking.
I would recommend the hotel with this caveat - don't bother eating at the Arcada.
The Arcada restaurant has one Michelin Star - and it not deserved. Although the service was impeccable, the food was not. I asked for duck, it arrived raw. Before I said anything, the waiter saw the food and whisked it away. The same duck was returned 20 minutes later. It was a mediocre meal made memorable only by the service and the atmosphere.

The atmosphere is very good. The staff are very friendly, there is a very welcoming spirit.
We were in the spa wing, common areas look worn and with little clean, gives an appearance of neglect. The breakfast is not very varied.
