Holiday Inn Cardiff City Centre, an IHG Hotel

I have stayed in the Holiday Inn Express at Coldra and the Newport Holiday Inn as well as the Abergevanny. I tried to book into these but found them full. I expected the Holiday Inn Cardiff to be of the same standard but was really disappointed. Reception did not tell me whether breakfast was included and where the breakfast area was. There were no soft drink machines - I needed some water later on after the bar was shut. The room was small and congested. The small chiller - even though turned on had no drinks in there. The whole hotel was dingy,dark and needs a revamp badly. The only saving grace was the night receptionist who was very helpful when I needed water at gone midnight.

Very pleasant staff odd one did not speak but that was odd one, good position no city noise quite just back of Cardiff Rugby club 2 minute walk to centre and shopping splott market 5 mins by taxi or 30 minute walk so ts a good position
