Excellent location, secure parking ( free with rooom upgrade deal on the day ). Staff very helpful, reception service very good. Very well appointed room which had recently been refurbished. Drinks a bit expensive, but only the going rate for this grade of hotel.

The online booking had not reached the hotel which was understandable as the booking had been made only a few hours before. Staff were efficient in booking us in. I was sadly disappointed with the standard of the room. It was not adequately prepared with the second set of towels being found in the wardrobe. There were only 2 teabags and I had to ask for toilet roll. As they did not have the details of the booking the extra pillows requested were not in the room. The room and furnishings although clean and adequate were somewhat shabby. The wallpaper was torn and marked. The beds were very 'undressed' with just a well used dull white ovesized duvet cover tucked under the mattress; there was no valance and the base of the bed was bare. The staff were pleasant enough and helpful. The location was good and I enjoyed the use of the spa facilities, although the dash over the side lane was little inconvenient. Breakfast was good too as was the service. As the stay was a 40th birthday treat for a friend it fell short of my expectations and did make a mockery of my 'luxury treat'. Staff advised me that the floor in question was imminently due for a multi million refit bad timing!

The room was actually very nice, however when returning there at bedtime, the bedroom and bathroom were very cold and we could not turn on the heater in the bathroom. Once again in the morning, the bathroom was quite cold when using the shower. I did mention this at the reception desk on departure.

ROOM 326 19TH OCTOBER.CARD READER FAILED,NO ACCESS TO ROOM FROM THAT EVENING,RECEPTION STAFF HAD TO GIVE US ACCESS TO OUR ROOM UNTIL DAY OF DEPARTURE.SERIOUS H & S ISSUES IN ROOM,NO HANDLE ON OUTWARD OPENING LEFT WINDOW FRAME.
