The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin

The concierge, Marc, was great. He was very resourceful. The doormen were remarkably polite and courteous. The breakfast was one of the best we have ever had in a five star hotel. Abundant of choices and excellent quality. I also like the location of the hotel.

The standard of the rececption staff was not up to RC's level. They did not call me when the room was ready as they had promised.I was given a room with strong cigarette smoke even though I had made a request foe a non-smoking room a few times before.

Entire stay was very relaxing.

The somewhat uncomfortable and quite busy chairs and tables in the breakfast area.

Everything was just perfect, it also had a 10 may be!

The friendliness and professionalism of the staff is unique.

Even after long reflection I have no idea.

My only disappointment was the view from the hotel room...but apart from that, everything else was as near perfect a it could be and I cannot rate your hotel too highly. Special thanks for the birthday cake and the welcome.

We enjoyed the galmour of the hotel, the use of the swimming pool area etc We really did enjoy our stay despite the bleeping noise from the telephone!!

During our first night stay at the hotel there was an intermittent bleeping noise coming from the around the locker at one side of the bed. We reported this to the reception at 1am. Three staff members came to our room to investigate this problem. We were advised to remove our mobile phone from the top of the bedside locker as it may be interferring with the electrics that operates the lights etc which is located in the top drawer of the locker. We cooperated with staff but unfortunately the problem continued. The next morning we reported the problem again and eventually we were advised the bleeping noise appeared to be coming from the room telephone that was located on the locker. The telephone was removed and the problem was sorted. On our first night stay we got no sleep at all due to the noise.

The room was comfortable and clean, and the maid service was reliable and attentive. Overall it is a great property.

We found the concierges to be a bit stiff and formal and, frankly, not quite up to the par we've experienced at other hotels of this caliber. While they were ultimately helpful they didn't take that extra step. The fitness center was far below the caliber that we expected from a Ritz Carlton. It was clean and in working condition, but poorly conceived.
