The Hotel grounds are spectacular. I really enjoyed walking them. The girls on reception were extremely friendly and helpful. The gentleman in the restaurant, I believe to be the manager was very nice also. The dinner and breakfast were very good.
In the bar when I was served my drinks, the barman did not give me any coasters. Also when I held out my hand for my change, he put it on the counter instead of handing it to me. I don't think he was purposefully being rude but this happened on two occasions. In the morning at breakfast time, the lady in the restaurant took my plate before I was finished eating. She never asked me had I finished. I did not say anything as my mouth was full as I was still eating. I won't say it ruined my stay but I would expect service to be of a higher standard.

Good service. Room was beautiful and updated with hairdryer. liked having computer access in the library.
Fire in fireplace produced smoke that filtered throughout the main floor. (set off smoke alarms) The clothes I was wearing smelled like smoke for days. would have liked to have some music at some point during the evening. Needed an updated map of the walking areas.

We have problems with reservation, because at the recetion desk they don't know nothig about it. With kindness of hotel staff all was aranged.

Although our room was gorgeous and had a great view of the lake, the room smelled like smoke and despite our keeping the windows open for 5 hours while we were out, we returned to the same smoke smell. As a result, I was congested all night long and had itchy eyes, making it difficult to sleep. Too bad because it was difficult to enjoy the beautiful room.

Ballynahinch Castle is a must for everyone - its a wonderful setting and so relaxing. The staff are excellent and very friendly - to be honest i've never experienced service like it. Its ideal for total relaxation and a break from city life without having to travel to the ends of the earth - its truly the jewel of Connemara.

This was a family 6-day trip to Ireland and included my 2 children and their partners. The castle was our first night stay and the experience, comfort and setting was incredible.

We particularly enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the food/service in the bar was wonderful. One of the most delicious meals we have ever had.
