Western House Hotel

The whole experience was first class, from the friendly staff to the food and accomodation.

Very comfortable room - helpful staff - welcomeing atmosphere - we were guests at a wedding and the whole occasion was lovely.

Tiny gripe - my husband had the Scottish breakfast which he thoroughly enjoyed; I had the most unappetising, vinegar tinged, lukewarm poached eggs I have ever tasted. If we ever return I will be having a Scottish breakfast!

Having stayed at the hotel numerous times in the past the facilities and staff were excellent as usual. The price of the room was good.

Unfortunately the accomidation did not meet the high standards of previous stays. The beds both were very hard and springs could be felt in the mattress. We had a couple of rooms as were staying with children and the base on one side of one of the beds had collapsed. Finding out that this had happened with a child asleep in the other half of the bed meant that I was unable to get things changed and ended up with a very poor nights sleep. In the future I will make sure that I check the bed fully prior to putting everyone to sleep. The bathroom in one room also had the remains of a broken necklace string scattered on the floor implying that although clean - a full hover had not been carried out.

The rooms were very good although a little cold on the first night. The bed was excellent and the list of extras in the room was impressive.

Too many staff on breakfast service which is costly

Convenient, efficient and very comfortable.

Don't like the top house rooms but I should of asked for ground floor. Breakfast service left something to be desired. I was not asked if I wanted a cooked breakfast and had to confirm, 5 min. later my order, and had to request our order for tea and toast to be brought a second time. It was very good when it came.

A very comfortable room was provided. Staff were very attentive, turning down the bed and bringing shortbread and hot choc for us mmm, The hotel restaurant was fab and really well priced. The immediate surroundings were lovely but I'm afraid Ayr has turned into a very depressing place. The High Street is dismal and the shopping dreadful. What a shame as I used to love Ayr!

I wouldn't change a thing about the hotel or price.

We particularly enjoyed the food which was excellent and portions were generous. The staff were outstanding, helpful and friendly. We liked everything about the hotel and look forward to returning.

We were in a courtyard room and had to walk to hotel for meals (a very short distance). This was not a problem however there was a thunderstorm and torrential rain on one of days we were there so the 'walk' became a 'sprint'.

Staff were so helpful and the hotel was beautiful - we had a wonderful stay and will be back.
