If you’re looking for a vacation that’s off the beaten path, you’ve found it in Laos. Speaking of paths, 80% of Laos’s roads are still unpaved. But as most Laos hotels are in the major cities, that should not be a problem. In fact, recent improvements have resulted in the main routes between Vientiane, Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang and Savannakhet being paved, and chances are your hotel in Laos will be in one of these cities. Despite its rural nature, Laos features a variety of three-star hotel rooms, and using Eurobookings.com is a great way to get a good look at these hotels before making your Laos reservations. Many Laos landmarks, such as the exquisite 1566 Vientane religious monument known as Pha That Luang can be found conveniently close to your Eurobookings.com hotel room. Hotel rooms can also be found in the city of Luang Prabang.

A hotel in Luang Prabang, Laos puts you in the former Laotian capital. An ancient city so beautiful that it’s been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a hotel in Luang Prabang can be close to such historical sites as Haw Cam, the former royal palace and such natural attractions as the Bear Rescue Center, which is located close to the stunning Kuang Si Waterfalls. Hotels in Laos’s biggest northern city also make a great homebase for exploring the country’s rugged interior. Besides the waterfalls, you can visit the Bokeo Nature Reserve, one of the last remaining habitats of the black crested gibbon, an animal once thought extinct. A Luang Prabang, Laos hotel is also a treat for the shopper, with the city’s Morning Market and Night Bazaar providing nearly round-the-clock shopping. There are many hotels close to these sites as well.

Further south, a Laos hotel in the capital of Vientane can provide you with some culinary experiences that you won’t soon forget. Many times, you can find a great restaurant right downstairs from your hotel room, and Eurobookings.com will tell you which Laos hotels serve food and which don’t. Sample the Laos national dish called laap, which is a salad made from minced meat, herbs, spices, lime juice and lots and lots of chili. A close cousin of Thailand’s larb, the Laotian version usually comes with raw meat. Other attractions outside the cities include the famous Plain of Jars, the elephants of Sainyabuli, and an impressive cave in Oudomxay. Be sure to ask for the best way to access these sights at your hotel.
