Once the capital of Spain, Valladolid was also the birthplace of King Philip II and is situated just 162 km from today’s capital, Madrid. Valladolid is a waterfront town that overlooks the river Pisuerga. The town mixes medieval and modern architecture; some of the best examples are the Valladolid Royal palace and the Palace of the Marquises. Visitors can take a walking tour through the Plaza Zorrilla, close to the famous fountain. The Casa Cervantes was home to the world famous writer and there’s a vast collection of modern art at the Museo Colon in the town where Columbus past away. There’s a ‘Red Wine Route’ that takes visitors through the wine-growing areas, including a visit to the Wine Museum with plenty of wine tasting on the way. -Enter the city following signs to ‘Valladolid-Sur’ until you reach a crossing where you will see the ‘Feria International de Muestras’ (Trade Fair Centre).
-Turn right crossing over the river and carry straight on.
-Once passed the Town Hall (Ayuntamiento) you can park your car in the Plaza Mayor car park.
-Once parked you can carry on straight and you will see the guesthouse under the arcade arches.
