One of the worlds most famous museums and described by online source Concierge as "one of the single greatest museums in the world", the British Museum is a must-see for any visitor to London.

Housing a breathtakingly huge collection of more than 13 million objects dating from the prehistoric to the modern day and from all over the world.

Sections in the massive museum, which is largely divided by region, include Africa, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece and Rome, the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. There are also themed rooms focusing on living and dying, money and enlightenment.

Some of the venue'e most famous displays include the extensive range of Egyptian Mummys and the Rosetta Stone.

The museum also plays host to a number of fascinating temporary exhibitions, which have included China's terracotta army.

It is impossible to see all the museum has to offer in a day, but visitors will be mesmerised by the amazing sights that they manage to witness in their time in the building.
