Celebrated Spanish artish Joan Miro is remembered at a collection of his works in Barcelona.

Exhibiting a vast range of the artist's work, much of which was dedicated by the man himself, including paintings, textiles, graphic works, drawings, sketches and studies, this is a museum not to be missed.

Miro is famous for having explored different materials, forms and colours in his art.

The tribute to the artist houses the largest collection of his work which consists of around 11,000 pieces, including 8,000 drawings, 240 paintings, 175 sculptures, nine textiles and four ceramics.

There is also a small part of the museum dedicated to other artists including Alechinsky, Brossa, Duchamp, Ernst and Matisse.

Designed by Josep Lluis Sert, the building is full of light and space.

Other works by Miro can be seen around Barcelona, such as in the Parc Joan Miro, the courtyard of City Hall and in the Ceramic Museum. Those entering the city through the airport will also see an example of his art in the form of a ceramic mural outside terminal B.
