Hailed one of the best alternative festivals in Europe, Lowlands returns this year from August 15th to 17th.

The huge hybrid event this year features the likes of the Kooks, British Sea Power, Killswitch Engage, Sex Pistols and Roisin Murphy - all helping to get the Dutch countryside dancing.

However, festival organisers are keen to stress the weekend, hosted near Biddinghuizen in Holland, offers much more than a musical feast in a field.

Visitors can also expect great grub, street theatre, comedy, a series of film screenings, sports, poetry, literature and art too.

In all, the event is set to attract more than 55,000 people from across the continent housed in over seven campsites and dividing time between eight stages. The temporary community will also boast its own newspaper, radio broadcast and even currency!
