This year the internationally renowned Bordeaux Wine Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary.And the June event will be as entertaining as ever, with festivities celebrating local wine, food and culture.Visitors can purchase a tasting pass for 13 euros, to sample the delights produced in the region at the new Pavillon des Appellations and Pavillon des Négociants. The pass is well worth the investment, as it includes a glass, glass case, tasting notebook and a number of special offers.Further opportunity to explore comes with the purchase of a 70 euro vineyard pass, which allows visitors to tour the wine country, looking at three estates on the same day with the help of a tour guide.The Unesco World Heritage Site will also host a special tribute to St Petersburg, with a pavilion dedicated to the Russian city as 'guest of honour' at the event - Russia is the 15th largest export market for Bordeaux wine.Other entertainment will come from the Bordeaux Aquitaine National Orchestra and the Bordeaux Opera Choir, who will open the festival with a concert, as well as firework displays at the end of every evening of the festival.Each year sees the production of over 700 million bottles of Bordeaux wine.

As well as booking into one of the best hotels in Cannes, visitors can take their pick from yachts moored along the harbour.Each year – months after the film version has taken place – the MIP-Com hosts the big names of the little screen to bid for programmes.Global content from almost 5,000 companies is showcased for about 4,000 buyers in exhibition space at the Palais des Festivals.More than 100 countries take part in the event which takes up 21,612 metres of space.Insiders are able to keep track of global trends at MIP-Com, which runs from October 13th to 17th.Cannes enjoys 12 hours of sunshine from May to September and the weather is mild during the rest of the year.Other festivals include the Cannes Film each May, Midem for music, Mipim for apartments and an advertising event.There's also a carnival on the Riviera, an international festival of games, an event for boating enthusiasts and a chance for actors and actresses to perform.

Now one of Europe's major events celebrating film, the Paris Cinema International Film Festival welcomes tens of thousands of visitors each year.Visitors flock to 20 different cinemas around the French capital to see an eclectic and ambitious line-up of 300 films over 12 days.This year taking place from July 1st - 12th, organisers expect over 70,000 attendees to turn up at the celebration.A number of premieres of movies from all around the world are shown here, both feature-length and shorter films, which compete for a number of awards.These include the Paris Cinema Audience Award, the Paris Cinema Jury Award and the Paris Cinema Award of the Future for the longer films, as well as the Paris Cinema Audience Award and the TPS Star Jury Award for the shorter presentations.The event attracts a number of top names, in the past welcoming Jackie Chan, Isabelle Hupert and Oliver Stone.Cannes Film Festival 2008 in the south of France will this year feature a line-up of films led by Dirty Harry and Indiana Jones.
