Everything goes swimmingly in Gran Canaria

If splashing around with sea lions sounds like your thing, don't miss a trip to the Canary Islands' biggest water park this year.

Aqualand in Maspalomas recently unveiled the amazing new activity to complement the string of water-based rides and activities already on offer at the park.

Each swim session lasts 20 minutes and is preceded by a theory session of similar length. Booking is mandatory as there is only one class a day comprising just 15 people.

For those who miss out, be sure to explore the rest of the park for other aqua activities, including 33 water slides.

Tornado is among the top attractions for anyone brave enough to sample the giant whirlpool on a double rubber ring, while Kamikaze offers some heart-stoppingly vertiginous drops.

Maspalomas is the oldest tourist town on the south coast of Gran Canaria. The resort is famous for its spectacular dunes.
