Bank on having fun in London

Posted on Tue. 04/03/2008 18:30. Categories: United Kingdom | Activities

London's South Bank is full of fun for all the family.

Home to one of the capital's most famous modern landmarks, the Millennium Wheel, visitors to this great attraction can, on a clear day, see right across London from its large glass cabins.

And for those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground, the London Aquarium has a fantastic array of fish and marine wildlife from all over the world, with a highlight being the stingray, which careful visitors can stroke.

The newly refurbished Royal Festival Hall hosts a great selection of concerts and theatre performances throughout the year.

While feeling cultural, visitors may also want to pop along to the Dali museum, which is signified by a large statue of a melting clock outside its doors.

And when they tire of sightseeing, the edge of the Thames is home to a number of great restaurants and bars for tourists to rest their weary legs.

The Royal Festival Hall originally opened in May 1951 as the centrepiece of the UK's post war celebration, the Festival of Britain.
