Step out from the front door of your Arona hotel and be transported back in time by strolling to the 17th Century Basilica and the former Archbishop's Palace. Then marvel Arona’s most famous attraction; the Sancarlone. Built in the 17th Century, this immense 35 meter statue of Saint Charles Borromeo is the largest standing bronze statue in the world, second only to the Statue of Liberty, whose architects are said to have examined the blueprints of the Sancarlone.
