The Tuberoza is a very nice guest house style hotel. It is tastefully furnished, and provides a nice breakfast with some really nice jazzy background music. The staff were always friendly and on hand when needed. The hotel is conveniently centred in a quiet location just a short walk from the busier town centre and all its amenities.
Conveneience, friendly and listening to Billie Holliday whilst having breakfast. |

Breakfast was a bit late at 9 to 10.30 am. Slightly damp or stale smell in the bathroom. |

A good hotel in a very good location in town. No complaints whatsoever with the hotel. All the staff were very helpful and the buffet breakfasts were fine. I do however have a serious complaint about the Zakopane-Life people. They failed to advise that the slope beneath/beside the Gubalowka finicular railway was closed due to a dispute between the train operators and the land owners. There were only three slopes available in the resort and with this one closed, the other two were crowded. Slope behaviour were poor. Skiers were stopping in the middle of the slope not at the side as they should and then, they failed to look up hill before sking on down the slope. I have skied for 40 years, Europe and America and this behaviour was the worst I have experienced anywhere. The taxi fare from Krakow airport to the resort was, simply a complete rip off. It was available at 280plz compared to 460plz if booked through Zakopane-Life, they have to get real. Eating in town very good value provided you avoided the bean feast or bun fight locations. Bus service very good, regular, cheap and most of the drivers were very helpful, certainly more than could be said for one of the people at the finicular railway ticket office. If this resort is going to develope and attract more people, all three skiing hills have to be on a single pass, the people in the ticket office at the Szmoszkowa lift have to be much more helpful as well. All in all, a poor experience and not one that I could recommend, I skied the resort our in three days so I would suggest Zakopane is good for three days skiing and then three days in Krakow, away home after a week. I think a better resort would be Krynica.
Skied for three days. |
