The Grange Hotel

THE HOTEL SURPASSED MY EXPECTATIONS. FROM THE MOMENT WE ARRIVED WE WERE TREATED WITH A FRIENDLY PROFESSIONALISM. THE ROOMS WERE WELL APPOINTED, THERE WAS SOME ROAD NOISE AT THE FRONT OF THE HOTEL,BUT TO BE EXPECTED IN A CITY.WE ATE IN THE BRASSERIE AND THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS, AS WAS BREAKFAST.SMALL TOUCHES LIKE FRESH MILK FOR TEA AND COFFEE BROUGHT TO THE ROOM ON REQUEST,MADE IT SPECIAL. THE TRIP WAS TO CELEBRATE MY FRIEND'S BIRTHDAY AND SHE WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED.

	WARM AND FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE. YOUNG STAFF WITH THE RIGHT ATTITUDE TO THEIR WORK'AND WHO WERE OBVIOUSLY HAPPY IN THEIR EMPLOYMENT.

We enjoyed our stay at the Grange Hotel. Staff very helpful, food excellent and location is good.

	Very comfortable surroundings with very pleasant helpful staff.
	Car park is a bit small

We enjoyed are stay at the hotel very much, its the first time that we have stayed at the hotel and we will be booking again .

I enjoyed my stay very much so I have no negatives but made two minor observations in the comments book which were observations and not complaints as I enjoyed my stay very much but had watched the Hotel Inspector on telly the night before. My observations were; The rib eye steak was very nice but was unlikely to be rib eye which always has a vien or two of fat running through. The mushroom seemed to have been soaked in water which made them very soft but also a little watery to taste. Dinner mushrooms would be nice soaked in garlic oil or some other flavour. and in the morning soaked in oil. These are very minor points and I look forward to my next trip to York and the Grange Hotel with great relish.

	Everything was comfortable and the staff response to everything was very positive. It is such a nice oldy world place to stay

Beautiful hotel ideal for a short walk into the town centre, very welcoming & friendly staff. Could do with a bigger selection of meals, we ate out instead of in the hotel on the odd evening, had their been a larger menu we would have eaten at the hotel. But apart from that a truely wonderful place.

	The staff from the reception, breakfast staff & cleaners were very friendly & helpful
	Did not like the fact that the room was st the front of the hotel where it is a busy road & you could hear every bit of traffic

Very accommodating and understanding staff. It was not their fault it rained for 48 hours but they were very empathetic.

The walls were rather thin, we could here the occupants of the neighbouring room coughing all night, I also found the stairs rather hard, as I have angina, and the fact there was no lift, made it quite difficult. We were on the 2nd floor.
